My response to Wonder chapters
My response to the chapters we read in the book Wonder includes a variety of connections, questions, and “Wow’s”.
My connection that came to me while reading the book was when August’s friend Summer is pressured into not being friends with August and you could be so much more “popular”, or “in”! I connect to this because at my school there is a similarity. To be “cool” you have to wear certain things or even have a boyfriend or girlfriend and then everyone likes you and thinks that you are the coolest person ever!
A question I had in the book was how does Via feel now after hearing that Miranda misses her. What is she feeling? Is she willing to forgive and forget about Miranda abandoning her to hang out with other kids? If it were I, I would forgive Miranda because all kids have flaws and lots of them want to be at the top and always be heard but it might not always happen.
Finally I will tell you about a “Wow” moment I had in the book. The Wow moment I had in the book was when August’s, and Via’s talk. I thought that the overall conversation was really deep and that is what really caught my attention. When August said “I don’t know why I didn’t tell you about Miranda’s phone call? I really enjoyed reading that part. It was full of sorrow and a bit of happiness at the ending!
