My Thanksgiving dinner
On Monday it was Thanksgiving. I was so excited to see what tasty morasels my parents would be cooking up for us today (besides turkey). It all started the day before, when we put the turkey in the sink and filled it up with the tap water so it could defrost. That night after coming back from hockey, we checked to see if it was defrosted, and belive it or not it was! That night we put in the fridge to keep cool. The next day was the real thing. We got to cook the turkey in the oven for about 4-5 hours. In the time being we cooked two pumpkin pies, and one apple pie. By the time the pies were baked, it was time to start cooking the stuffing, carrots (which were real hot, and soft), the mashed potatos (with cheese on top), and finally (my favourite side) the rolls! All of those delicious smells mixed together smelled so good my taste buds were tingling. When we completed that task it was 5 o'clock and we were so caught up in cooking that we almost didn't hear the beeper go off! We brought the turkey out, and it was as a beautiful golden brown. We finally got to eat after countless hours of cooking. It was delicious! My favourite food of the night was the beautiful white strips of turkey. I was thankful for the wonderful turkey dinner and spending time with my family.
